The crypto market is brimming with incredible ideas! This time, shareholders of Meta Platforms Inc. are making waves. They are urging the company to consider adding Bitcoin to its treasury. The fact is that the skyrocketing inflation is eating away at the company’s $72 billion cash reserves.

According to the latest financial reports, Meta has $72 billion in cash and cash equivalents. This sum is part of its total assets, which amount to $256 billion as of September 30, 2024.
Shareholders are concerned that inflation is eroding the purchasing power of traditional currencies. Inspired by MicroStrategy’s policy, Mr. Peck proposed hedging these risks with Bitcoin.
To put this in perspective, Bitcoin surged by 124% by the end of 2024. This far outshines bonds, which generally yield around 20%. Over the past five years, Bitcoin has skyrocketed by an impressive 1,265%, leaving government bonds in the dust.
The shareholders' initiative highlights Bitcoin's growing acceptance among corporations. Many major companies are now looking to include BTC in their portfolios. MicroStrategy’s success story is a prime example, with its stock prices soaring over five years thanks to Bitcoin-based operations.
